our “why”
Too many families find themselves giving back to the first responder community after experiencing unimaginable loss.
Kevin survived. We’re here in gratitude—using the time we’ve been given to help this community do more with theirs.
meet the founders
We’re Kevin and Chrissy Neafsey, co-founders of Invest in First Responders. We know first hand how deeply the first responder community shows up for one another - quietly, without fanfare, and often without resources.
Kevin spent 20 years as first responder for the City of New York, serving three years with the NYPD and retiring after 17 years with the FDNY. He has dedicated his life to serving the public and the first responder community—including during Hurricane Katrina, Superstorm Sandy and as a peer support team member at Friends of Firefighters.
Chrissy spent 20 years in the corporate world, leading people, partnerships, and employee resource groups. She is a 3x founder and startup investor and comes from a first responder family herself. Through IIFR her goal is to create long-term economic stability for the programs and organizations allowing first responders to heal from compounded job related trauma.
Together, we understand both sides: the trust and tradition that defines first responder culture, and the structure and expectations that drive corporate partnerships and philanthropy. We built IIFR because we believe the two belong in the same room because when these parties come together entire communities get stronger!
we are your translator…
…To Close The Disconnect in Social Impact
Corporations and brands dedicate entire budgets and teams to social impact programs. However, those dollars often fail to reach the business or nonprofit owners being called to help — resulting in under resourced peer support communities. This isn’t because people don’t care; it’s because there has never been a clear, trusted pathway for them to engage.
…To Create A New Standard in Partnership
It’s true, first responders and corporate boards speak different languages. IIFR connects first responder–run businesses, nonprofits, and community programs with corporations that are ready to invest. We translate mission into the language of corporate social responsibility (CSR) — shifting the conversation toward authentic, sustainable support.
IIFR protects your time so you can stay focused on what you do best: SERVING YOUR COMMUNITY.
a shared investment in human infrastructure
First responders protect our communities. We protect theirs by directing corporate support to trusted, peer-led organizations providing space and support to heal from compounded job replated stress and trauma.
We connect corporations, communities and capital through a marketplace built for impact – reinvesting resources into first responder-led community focused initiatives, building deep trust on both sides.
Every investment strengthens the whole community – improved mental health, family wellness, peer support capacity and long-term resilience to continue to serve the public – on their own terms.
